Listen man, there's SEVERAL places doing coversongs. Coverblog and Copy, right? are the first two I thought of. There's room for everybody.
I'd certainly understand if you wanted to regroup and try something different and that's cool too, but you should definitely follow wherever your muse takes you.

Keep going with the cover thing if that's what you want to really do... but the fact that someone was there first shouldn't stop you. Hey, the fact that someone had done those songs before didn't stop those bands from covering them, now did it?

There is no such thing as a new idea. Don't let the presence of my blog keep you from maintaining yours. I mena, who knows? There's a chance you might post stuff I don't already have or even know about. In fact, you should make that your goal: to surprise me. Heh. It's hard to do.
